What is
Home Delivered Meals?
The Home Delivered Meals is a program through the Non-Metro Area on Aging to feed seniors and the general public in Roosevelt County. The purpose is to end senior hunger in our area and provide a nutritious meal. We are open Monday-Friday and meals are delivered between 10:30 am and 12:30 pm.
Can anyone sign up?
Those over age 60 who are home bound can participate in the program. A home assessment is needed to get started.
How much does it cost?
Since the program is funded by North Central Economic Development District and by Community Services Center, there is no cost to participants on the program. However, due to rising food costs and funding cuts, we need local support to continue serving those in need.
Is there paperwork?
Yes, but it takes no more than 5 minutes to compete. The funding agency for the meal site is North Central New Mexico Economic Development District (NCNMEDD) and they need us to keep track of meals served. By filling out the paperwork, you are helping us keep track of the number of meals served.
Funding
As mentioned above, we are funded by NCNMEDD, but not in full. We use our own general fund to cover the remaining portion of the budget. Local support is needed now and in the future for long-term sustainability. If you are interested in helping our cause, please contact us. Information is below.
